Just Exercise"

Falls in the elderly can cause a reduced quality
of life and often lead to death.  A person who
was once active and mobile can suddenly be
reduced to being bedridden and dependant on
someone for every need.  This does not have to
be the case.

If someone lives in a nursing home or other
long term care facility, they should be educated
on fall prevention and given the tools and
resources necessary to prevent a fall to the
best of their ability.  Long term care facilities
should be mandated to have public fall
prevention programs for all residents.

If someone lives independently they should be
allowed to have their health insurance source
pay for fall prevention services.
If long term care facilities and health insurance
companies continue to ignore the problem, then they
continue to be a part of the problem.
