Some facilities have entertainment every week, some once a month, and others
none at all.  The key to entertainment is variety and atmosphere.  Don't assume
that you know what your audience wants.  You need to ask and experiment.  Don't
be afraid to try something new.  Remember the diversity in long term care facilities
demands that there be a wide variety of activities that covers many ages, abilities
and backgrounds.
The Atmosphere
Whatever the venue is, decorate
accordingly.  Use your imagination, and if
you are running out of ideas, ask some
other staff or go online and do some
research.  The possibilities are endless.
